| Option 1: Assistant Instructor course
The Assistant Instructor Course is a 4 day course for qualified PADI Divemasters (or equivalent), and is the first half of the complete PADI Instructor Development Course. At the conclusion, you will be able to teach PADI theory and experience programs.
Option 2: Open Water Scuba Instructor course
Giving you the skills to really teach and work in the dive industry, the OWSI course upgrades your existing PADI Assistant Instructor qualifications. A 6 day course that runs each quarter to coincide with Instructor Examinations (IE).
Option 3: Complete Instructor Development Course
This 10 day course consists of the Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor courses together. It is the most popular course giving you the full training to become a Scuba Instructor.
Other Information
Instructor Course prerequisites :-
- First Aid Certificate, no more than 1 year old at time of certification.
- PADI Divemaster qualifications or equivalent (PADI AI required for OWSI course).
- Evidence of 60 logged dives at start of course (100 required to sit IE).
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Current dive medical.
- Full set of dive equipment, including alternate air source and timing device
Materials and approximate fees (subject to changes):-
- Instructor IDC Kit : $790 Includes Instructor Manual & Candidate Workbook, Aquatic Cue cards confined water, Aquatic Cue cards open water:
- AI Application fee:~ $70
- IDC Application fee:~ $175
- Instructor Examination Fee: $750 (run by PADI over 2 day period).
- Other materials may be required, depending on what you have on hand.
- Gear hire is available at a special rate.
